Fossil fuels are running out rapidly and the use of renewable energy will take over our industry. Needless to say that medicine manufacturing is of great importance in our human lives. We can mimic nature’s behaviour and use it to our advantage. Timothy Noël explains how we will not need anything but some sunshine and an artificial leaf-shaped device to create pharmaceuticals. Since 2014, Timothy Noël has been serving as an associate editor of the Journal of Flow Chemistry. Recently, he received a prestigious VIDI grant (NWO) and he coordinates the Marie Skłodowska-Curie ETN program “Photo4Future”. As assistant Professor at Eindhoven University of Technology, where he is currently working on new ways in which science can solve the environmental issues we are facing today… with a leaf.
