The ATLAS Institute's Master of Science in Information and Communication Technology for Development

The ATLAS Institute’s Master of Science in Information and Communication Technology for Development (MS-ICTD) is the only program of its kind in the United States. The two-year program prepares students to effectively leverage Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in underserved communities.
In order for ICT-based development interventions to succeed, technological considerations must be balanced with social, cultural, political and external issues. To this end, students take courses in technology, development studies, policy and fieldwork methods. Achieving a balance between technology and society is a central objective of this program.
The program includes three semesters in residence and a final semester comprised of a field-based practicum, where students work with NGOs, development agencies, foundations and technology companies on real-world ICTD interventions.
