The RailTel Corporation of India Limited is an enterprise under the ministry of Railways for the purpose of providing VPN and broadband services. The RailTel Corporation of India Limited recruitment happens for both regular and deputation based positions. The most commonly sought positions are field assistants, field supervisor, executives, manager secretary, project engineers and many others. In the management side, the recruitment happens for general administration, finance and marketing. In technical side, the candidates are selected in the departments like information technology, infrastructure, MPLS, data center, security and many others.
The candidates with bachelors or master degrees in information technology, computer science, electrical and telecommunication, electronics and communication engineering are usually sought in the technical side. Diploma candidates or other candidates with CCNP or JNCIP certification are also selected in the technical side. Finance candidates with CA or ICWA or MBA with finance are considered for finance department. Engineering candidates, management candidates in marketing field and PGP in telecom or marketing candidates are selected in the marketing department. Law candidates, HR, diploma candidates, graduates, management candidates in operations, purchase and other candidates are selected in the general administration department.
The selection process usually consists of a written test, skill test (for skilled and semi-skilled positions) and personal interview. The RailTel recruitment process is not the same for all the jobs. Just like other public sector jobs, the technical candidates are selected through their GATE score too.
All the recruitment processes would be handled by RRB. The selection process involves a written test conducted for two hours for 100 marks. 40 questions would be allocated for general awareness, logical reasoning, general English and quantitative aptitude. 60 marks would be allocated for technical part. The technical part varies based on the type of position.
The standard of the questions depends on the type of positions and the minimum educational qualification required for that post. The examination would be held pan India in certain locations and candidates can choose the place of test in the online application. The question paper would be both in English and Hindi. Those who are shortlisted in the written test would be called in for the next level of selection processes. Different RailTel India railways jobs would have different methods of applying. Usually the candidates would be instructed to apply online and get the registration number, admit card and password to their mail ID. The admit card is essential for the written examination. The call letter and other acknowledgment would be sent to the personal mail ID.
