This talk focuses on the Fraunhofer model for applied research and technology transfer, and how it relates to the rest of the research and innovation landscape in Germany. Though there is a focus on software engineering, many of the arguments apply to other applied and engineering sciences.
Dieter Rombach is professor at the Technical University of Kaiserslautern and the executive director of Fraunhofer IESE.
