THE WORLD RECORD HISTORY OF THE MILE! || The Progression to 3:43!!

Throughout the past century, we’ve seen countless great athletes run amazing times, but only the absolute elite of the elite ever break the world record. Since 1913, only 32 athletes have ever broken the world record for the mile.

Since 1999, Hicham El Guerrouj from Morocco has held the world record with a ridiculous time of 3:43.13. This time has indeed stood the test of time, as it’s been the all time record for over 20 years.

For this video, we’ll exclusively be examining the world records since the IAAF took over in 1913.
